Happy New Year! Thank you! See you in 2026!

I want to wish everyone in Sparks, and especially my neighbors in Ward 2, a Happy New Year. As we head into 2026, I’ve been reflecting on 2025 and the last six months since announcing my campaign in June. Running to represent my neighbors here in Ward 2 - and participating in this American democracy - has been the absolute honor of my life.

At my campaign launch in July, more than 80 people showed up - neighbors, friends, college classmates, teachers I’ve worked alongside and teachers who once taught me, and people I had never met before. Folks from every part of my life came together because they recognize that Ward 2 and Sparks deserve real change. The support has meant more to me than I can put into words.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many people who serve our community every day - firefighters, police officers, and city workers who keep our streets and sewers running. Beyond that, I’ve personally walked more than 125 miles, visiting and speaking with over 2,000 voters and countless other Sparks residents. I’m deeply grateful to anyone who took even a few minutes out of a busy day to share their story with me.

I look forward to continuing this campaign into 2026 - all the way to November, if that’s what it takes.

Thank you. Happy New Year. See you ’round the neighborhood.

- Hunter
