What is Ward 2?

The City of Sparks is divided into five districts known as Wards, and then numbers them 1 through 5. When these Ward lines were drawn, the goal was to balance population while keeping neighborhoods and community identities intact. Each Ward has its own character, history, unique needs, and elected representative - a city council member.

Ward 2 is home to roughly 20,000 residents and includes about 15,000 single-family homes and multifamily units. Its boundaries run along Greenbrae Boulevard to the south, the City of Reno to the west, and extend just slightly east of Sparks Boulevard. To the North Ward 2 also includes a large portion of the commercial areas around Disc Drive and Los Altos Parkway - including businesses like Walmart, Kohl’s, and Mama Celeste’s Pizza - but does not include the commercial area east of Galleria, such as Costco, Red Robin, or IHOP.
